  • 90+ dB profound loss.

- Hard of hearing describes a mild to moderate hearing loss.

- Deaf refers to a severe or profound hearing loss.

- Residual hearing, this is the amount of hearing left after a loss.

- American Sign Language (ASL) is used often for students who are deaf; it is their main form of communication.
